Dimagi recommends the following training plan for a scale-up of CommCare by community health workers. On this page, the chart below indicates the specific tasks required for a CommCare training and the estimated task duration, where applicable.

The plan is divided for different phases: Pre-training (on and off site), Training (schedule per day) and Post-Training.

Assumptions:

  1. Application is composed of two modules (maximum of 10 forms)
  2. Network provider has been identified. Mobile phones, SIMs and memory cards have been procured.
  3. A CommCare pilot has been conducted, and we are starting with a base of approximately 10 Master ASHAs who are experts in the use of CommCare and can support new trainee ASHAs. The Project Coordinator and Manager are experienced in deploying CommCare. Field Staff have observed use of CommCare in the field, are experienced in supporting ASHAs use the application and have some technical training for troubleshooting.
  4. One batch refers to a training group of 20-30 new CHWs.
